Speaking at a press conference, Gandhi stated, “The Election Commission, which is supposed to be an impartial and independent body, is acting like an ally of the BJP. They are helping the BJP to steal votes.” He presented what he claimed was evidence of widespread irregularities in voter lists, including multiple entries for the same individual, fake addresses, and doctored photographs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“There are lakhs of fake voters. There are many voters listed with fake addresses, and some even have pictures of famous personalities or inanimate objects,” Gandhi alleged. He pointed out specific instances where one voter ID was linked to multiple different names and addresses, suggesting a systematic attempt to inflate the voter count in certain constituencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gandhi also questioned the ECI’s silence on these issues despite repeated complaints from the opposition. “We have brought these discrepancies to the notice of the Election Commission many times, but they have taken no action. This clearly shows that they are hand in glove with the BJP,” he said.
