Inspired by Lord Krishna’s divine discus, the Sudarshan Chakra, the mission aims to create a multi-layered security shield to protect the country’s strategic, civilian, and religious sites from potential enemy attacks. The Prime Minister stated that the mission will be researched, developed, and manufactured entirely in India, with the goal of expanding, strengthening, and modernizing India’s national security shield by 2035.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the Prime Minister, the new defense system will not only be capable of countering terrorist attacks but will also have the ability to strike back at enemies with precision. The mission is seen as a move toward a self-reliant India (Aatmanirbhar Bharat) in defense technology, reducing the country’s dependence on foreign systems.
The announcement comes amidst recent concerns over security challenges and is being compared by experts to Israel’s Iron Dome system, known for its high success rate in intercepting incoming rockets and missiles. The Prime Minister’s speech also highlighted the success of recent military operations, emphasizing the need for proactive and integrated security planning.
