DHAKA<\/strong> – In a significant display of solidarity, the chiefs of Bangladesh’s armed forces actively participated in this year’s Janmashtami celebrations, sending a powerful message of unity and support to the country’s Hindu community. The presence of the top military brass at the religious event is being seen as a move to reassure minorities and uphold the nation’s secular values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


On the occasion of Sri Krishna Janmashtami, the main celebrations in Dhaka were attended by Bangladesh Army Chief General Waker-uz-Zaman, Navy Chief Admiral Mohammad Nazmul Hassan, and Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan. While the events are typically inaugurated by the Dhaka Mayor, the three military leaders were invited this year due to the ongoing interim government administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


“This country belongs to everyone. There will be no discrimination here based on religion, caste, or race. You can live in this country without fear. We will always be with you,” said Army Chief General Waker-uz-Zaman during his address at the event.
The celebrations also featured a colorful procession that started from Dhaka’s Dhakeshwari Temple. The event was held under tight security arrangements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
