Fluminense midfielder Jhon Arias<\/strong> proved to be the difference, scoring the decisive goal that sent the South American side into the knockout stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a tightly contested opening period, Colombia gradually gained control of possession and created the better opportunities. Their persistence paid off in the second half when Arias found the breakthrough, calmly finishing from inside the penalty area to put his side ahead. The goal ultimately proved enough as Colombia’s disciplined defence denied Ghana any clear-cut chances of finding an equaliser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
