Lakshminarayanan alleged that a gold-plated copy of the <em>Ramcharitmanas<\/em>, valued at approximately \u20b95 crore, was removed from the Ram Temple in Ayodhya after being donated to the shrine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Lakshminarayanan, he and his family presented the sacred text to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust in April 2024. However, he claims that the manuscript was later removed from the temple complex.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lakshminarayanan said that when he sought an explanation, the Trust&#8217;s General Secretary, Champat Rai, told him that it was not possible to display every offering received by the temple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The allegation comes amid earlier claims of irregularities involving gold and silver offerings made to the Ram Temple. Opposition leaders and representatives of a jewellers&#8217; association had previously alleged that a significant quantity of silver ingots and gold ornaments donated by devotees during the temple&#8217;s construction had gone missing. Among the reported missing items was a four-kilogram silver ingot donated by Uddhav Thackeray.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Investigators suspect that nearly 200 kilograms of silver ingots may have been stolen. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) is probing the case. Police believe that the stolen gold and silver may have been melted down to destroy evidence. Although raids have been conducted at multiple locations, the missing valuables have not yet been recovered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As the controversy intensified, the Trust&#8217;s Treasurer, Govind Dev Giri, issued a clarification, stating that he has no role in counting or managing the temple&#8217;s donations and offerings. He also called for a fair, impartial, and comprehensive investigation into the matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, the Indian National Congress accused the temple administration of large-scale financial irregularities involving donations. The party alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) were jointly responsible for the alleged misappropriation of temple funds. It also questioned the silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, claiming that their lack of response has deepened the controversy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>The allegations and counter-allegations remain disputed.
