The political landscape in Kerala could be witnessing a new development with actor Devan<\/strong> reportedly set to join Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK)<\/strong> after resigning from the BJP. The move follows mediation efforts led by actress Priyanka<\/strong>, who helped facilitate discussions between Devan and TVK leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n According to reports, Devan is being considered for a key leadership role in TVK\u2019s Kerala unit. However, a final decision is expected only after he meets TVK chief and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay<\/strong> in Chennai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Speaking to Reporter Channel, Priyanka said she was impressed by Vijay\u2019s style of functioning and his emphasis on action rather than merely making promises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cVijay has shown that it is action, not just words, that matters.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n Priyanka said she had earlier received requests from fan associations in different parts of Kerala asking her to join TVK. However, she wanted to enter the party through an official and proper channel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n She said she was informed that Vijay was particularly interested in bringing more artists and personalities from the film and cultural fields into the party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Following Devan\u2019s resignation from the BJP, TVK leaders contacted Priyanka and asked whether something could be done to bring him into the party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Priyanka said she was the first person to call Devan. She subsequently visited him along with TVK leaders Satheesh Thonnakkal and another party representative identified as JK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n After extensive discussions, Devan agreed to the proposal. However, Priyanka clarified that no final decision had yet been made regarding positions such as state president or secretary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The final call, she said, would be taken by Vijay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This is perhaps the most significant political speculation emerging from the development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Priyanka indicated that more actors and actresses could potentially associate themselves with TVK<\/strong> in Kerala. She said Vijay is keen on involving artists and cultural figures in the party\u2019s activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Her comments have fuelled speculation that Devan\u2019s entry could be only the beginning of a larger attempt to bring prominent personalities from Kerala\u2019s film industry into Vijay\u2019s political movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n TVK, which was launched by Vijay as a political alternative in Tamil Nadu, is increasingly looking beyond the state as it seeks to build a wider political presence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Kerala is emerging as an important state for the party\u2019s expansion strategy. He had cited ideological differences and said that the BJP\u2019s approach did not align with the principles of Sree Narayana Guru<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n His possible move to Vijay\u2019s party therefore marks another significant political shift involving a prominent Malayalam film personality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The immediate focus is now on Devan\u2019s proposed meeting with Vijay in Chennai<\/strong>.
