Wayanad: The palchuram Ghat Road has been completely closed to traffic until further notice following a landslide that occurred yesterday. Despite the debris being cleared and traffic being briefly restored, the ban was imposed by the Kannur District Collector due to ongoing safety concerns.
Travelers are now advised to use the Periya Ghat Road as an alternative route. The ban will remain in effect until experts from the Public Works Department assess the area and confirm that it is safe for travel.
While other ghat roads leading to Wayanad remain open for now, authorities have urged travelers to avoid ghat road journeys during periods of heavy rain due to potential risks.
