KOLLAM, October 18, 2025 : Police in Kollam have arrested a Bangladeshi national who was allegedly residing and working in the country illegally without proper documentation.
The arrested individual has been identified as Parimal Das (35), a citizen of Bangladesh.
The arrest was made by the Shakthikulangara Police in Kollam after they took Das into custody from a fishing boat where he was employed. He was found to be lacking the necessary documents for legal residency in India.
The police have registered a case against the individual and further investigations are underway to determine his entry route and whether he was assisted by any agents in obtaining employment or accommodation in the region.
The arrest is part of the ongoing vigil by Kerala Police against illegal immigrants residing in the state, particularly those working as migrant laborers or on fishing vessels, often using fake documents.
