Ponkuzhi: In a major drug bust under ‘Operation Clean Slate,’ the Sultan Bathery Excise Range Party seized 16.399 grams of the deadly narcotic methamphetamine from a passenger on a Kerala RTC bus traveling from Bengaluru to Sultan Bathery. The incident occurred during a routine vehicle check near the Kerala-Karnataka border at Ponkuzhi.
The arrested individual has been identified as Advait P.T (27), a resident of Anandavalli House, Iringallur, Olavanna, Kozhikode district. The operation was led by Excise Inspector P. Baburaj, with Preventive Officer Vinod P.R., and Civil Excise Officers Anil E., Sudheesh K.K., Dhanwanth K.R., Adith V.R., Ramya B.R., and driver Preventive Officer Balachandran K.K. also part of the team.
The accused was produced before the court and has been remanded. Excise officials continue to carry out strict inspections in border areas to curb drug trafficking.
