New Delhi: Pakistan carried out a series of attacks using multiple weapons, said Colonel Sophia Qureshi in a press conference. Military bases in Srinagar, Udhampur, Pathankot, and Adampur were targeted. India responded decisively to these attacks, she added. The press conference also included Foreign Secretary Vikram Mirsi and senior Air Force officer Wing Commander Vyomika Singh.
Colonel Qureshi stated that Pakistan repeatedly attacked civilian areas and that India retaliated by targeting Pakistani military installations. She revealed that Pakistan used civilian aircraft flying out of Lahore as a cover for its strikes.
She also dismissed Pakistani claims of destroying critical Indian defense locations, such as the S-400 sites and BrahMos missile facilities, calling it complete misinformation. Reports suggest increased Pakistani deployment along the border. India has put its territorial army on high alert and remains vigilant.
Pakistan used fighter jets, missiles, drones, and other military-grade equipment in the assault. From drones to long-range missiles, a wide range of weapons were used. While there was minor damage to Indian airbases and a few minor injuries, all attacks were strongly countered, the Ministry of External Affairs said.
Pakistan also targeted army medical centers and schools in Srinagar, and attacked six Pakistani military bases and two air bases in response. India stressed that only the specific launch points of the attacks were precisely targeted. Continuous firing, shelling, and drone strikes have been reported along the border. The Indian Army remains fully prepared to face any aggression.
Despite the escalation, India is still focusing on de-escalation. Officials confirmed that all Indian airbases, including Sirsa, Suratgarh, and Adampur, remain secure. The military also displayed timestamped images of the runways to confirm the safety of these facilities.
