Kalpetta:As part of the World Environment Day preparations, a joint initiative by the Social Forestry Division Wayanad and the 5 Kerala Battalion NCC Wayanad organized an Environmental Awareness Rally on May 19, 2025. The rally started from Sultan Bathery Court Junction and proceeded to St. Mary’s College.
The rally was flagged off by R. Keerthi IFS, Conservator of Forests, Social Forestry Northern Region, Kozhikode, and Colonel Mukund Gururaj, Commanding Officer of 5 Kerala Battalion NCC, Wayanad. M.T. Harilal, Assistant Conservator of Forests, Social Forestry Wayanad, and Ajith K. Raman, Divisional Forest Officer, South Wayanad, delivered welcome addresses.
Dr. Pramod K, Captain at St. Mary’s College, Sultan Bathery; M. Guveendra Pandian, Navy Subedar 5 K BN NCC; and John Mathai, 100 Days Residential Manager, St. Mary’s College, conveyed their felicitations. P. Sunil, Range Forest Officer, Social Forestry Range Kalpetta, expressed gratitude in the vote of thanks.
Over 500 NCC cadets and forest department officials actively participated in the rally.
