Woman Apprehended with Cannabis Valued at ₹23.42 Crore at Karipur Airport.

KARIPUR, KERALA: In a significant bust, a woman has been apprehended at Karipur Airport (Calicut International Airport) with a substantial quantity of cannabis, estimated to be worth ₹23.42 crore in the international market. The individual has been identified as Mashooda Shuhaib (40) from M.T.P. House, Thayanageri, Payyanur, Kannur.


The arrest was made by Customs officials acting on a confidential tip-off. During a thorough inspection, authorities discovered 23.429 kilograms of high-quality hybrid cannabis in her possession.
Customs officials have initiated a detailed investigation into the matter to ascertain the origin of the contraband and its intended destination. Authorities suspect that Shuhaib may be part of a larger drug trafficking network. Further interrogations are underway to uncover potential accomplices and the full extent of the operation.


This seizure marks another success for law enforcement agencies in their ongoing efforts to curb drug smuggling activities, particularly through major transit points like airports.
