In the widely circulated video, Khatoon is seen walking on the national flag and folding it with her feet. This act was widely condemned as a serious offense against the national symbol. The video prompted swift action from the authorities.
Following an investigation, the police identified Khatoon and arrested her on charges of insulting the national flag. Her actions are considered a violation of the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971.
