Mumbai terror attack accused Tahawwur Rana is being brought to Delhi, today.

New Delhi:Union Minister Piyush Goyal, in a social media post said that due to the determination of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, today the accused of Mumbai attacks has been brought to India and he will get the stringent punishment. Talking to the media in Mumbai, he alleged that the Congress government did nothing to punish the terrorists.

Security has been beefed up at NIA headquarters, Patiala Court and some other areas in the national capital. Rana is being brought to India after his final attempt to evade extradition failed, as the US Supreme Court rejected his application.

Yesterday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the return of Tahawwur Rana, is a great success of the Modi government’s diplomacy. He added, it is the responsibility of the Indian government to bring back all those who have misbehaved with the people of India. Speaking on a private TV channel, Mr. Shah said, it will be a great achievement for the country that Tahawwur Rana will face a trial in Indian court.

Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai has said that strict surveillance has been maintained on anti-national elements in the country, since Prime Minister Narendra Modi assumed office. Talking to reporters, Mr Rai said, the terrorism has been almost completely wiped out from the country. He said, strong action has been taken against those who tried to create instability in India over the past 14 years.

BJP has said that the extradition of Tahawwur Rana is a big step taken for ensuring and coming closer to justice, not just for 138 Indian victims but victims from other countries. Addressing the media in New Delhi today, party spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said, the country’s security agencies have achieved great success. He said, 26/11 terror attack conspirator Tahawwur Rana is being brought to India today. Mr Poonawalla added that the Narenda Modi government has adopted a zero tolerance policy towards terrorism in the last ten years.
