MUMBAI, India – Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s recent appearance at the launch of season two of the Indian Supercross Racing League on Wednesday has set social media abuzz, not for his usual style, but for a prominent blue sapphire ring on his finger. This new addition to his well-known turquoise bracelet, often seen as a style statement by his fans, has ignited curiosity among astrology enthusiasts and the public alike.
The timing of the ring’s appearance is particularly noteworthy as the actor is set to begin shooting for his next film, Battle of Galwan, in the challenging, freezing temperatures of Leh-Ladakh within the next 10 days.
According to Gurugram-based astrologer Sidhharrth S Kumaar, the blue sapphire, or Neelam, is primarily governed by the planet Saturn, which is associated with “gain.” Kumaar highlights that Saturn recently turned retrograde on July 13, 2025, and will remain in this phase until November. This astrological alignment is believed to bring “very immediate gains, gains in the terms of financial growth, specifically gains related to business where the person is planning expansion.”
Kumaar offered three potential reasons for the 59-year-old actor’s choice to wear the blue sapphire ring:
- Business Interests and Expansion: Given Salman Khan’s existing business ventures, the ring could be worn to align with the positive financial and expansionary energies associated with Saturn’s retrograde period.
- Protection from Misfortunes: The astrologer suggested that the blue sapphire could be a precautionary measure to “avoid any misfortunes or accidents,” especially considering the challenges Salman Khan has faced recently.
- Navigating a Difficult Period: Kumaar pointed out that Salman Khan has been experiencing a “bad patch,” both personally and professionally, describing it as a “midlife crisis” on the professional front. The blue sapphire is believed to help individuals “reclaim the height that the person was.”
The past year has indeed been tumultuous for the actor. His security has been significantly heightened following the murder of his friend and NCP leader Baba Siddiqui in October 2024, a crime in which the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has been implicated. Salman Khan has also been under continuous death threats from the same gang, with a shooting incident even occurring near his Mumbai apartment in April 2024. These personal hardships, coupled with recent professional setbacks, might be contributing factors to his decision to seek astrological remedies.
The blue sapphire, known for its powerful and swift effects, is often worn to appease Saturn and can bring about professional advancement, mental clarity, financial growth, and emotional strength when aligned favorably with an individual’s astrological chart. The rectangular shape of the stone worn by Khan, according to Kumaar, is specifically used for “protection, career fate, and re-establishing public perception.”
