India’s Operation Sindoor has been described by the Indian Air Force (IAF) as one of its most significant operations this year, demonstrating precision, reach, and tactical superiority.
IAF Chief Details Successful Operation
At the 93rd Air Force Day event, Air Chief Marshal A. P. Singh provided details of the operation, stating that Indian aircraft executed a long-range strike penetrating over 300 km into Pakistani territory. Targets included surveillance or early-warning aircraft (AEW&C/SIGINT) and multiple fighter jets.
According to the Air Chief, the operation achieved the following results:
Pakistani fighter jets destroyed: 4–5 (F‑16s and JF‑17s)
Radars neutralized: 4 locations
Command and control centers disabled: 2
Runways damaged: 2
Hangars destroyed: 3
Surface-to-air missile system neutralized: 1
He dismissed Pakistani claims of India losing aircraft as “manohar kahaniyan” (fanciful stories), emphasizing that Indian forces maintained operational superiority throughout the mission.
S‑400 Air Defence and Strategic Preparedness
Air Chief Marshal Singh also stressed the importance of strengthening India’s air defence network, highlighting the necessity for additional S‑400 systems to counter evolving aerial threats and ensure continued strategic advantage.
Indian Perspective on Misinformation
The Indian government has actively debunked misinformation regarding alleged Indian losses and damage to air defence systems. The Press Information Bureau (PIB) called such claims “baseless,” and the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) termed them part of a “misinformation campaign.”
