Khalistani extremists try to attack S Jaishankar in London, tear Indian flag

London:An attempt was made by Khalistani separatists to attack Foreign Minister S Jaishankar. The incident took place in London. The attackers rushed towards Jaishankar, who was in a car, but were stopped by security personnel.

The Indian flag was also reportedly torn. The minister continued his journey as he had no other issues.

The Foreign Minister was returning from an event at Chatham House in London when he faced a security threat. India will lodge a strong protest with Britain over the incident.

The incident took place last night. The footage of the incident is being circulated on social media. In the footage, a group of separatists holding Khalistani flags and shouting threatening slogans can be seen, and one of them rushes towards Jaishankar’s vehicle without any provocation. The police tried to calm the man down instead of subduing him. After a few moments, the minister’s motorcade moved on.

Jaishankar is in the UK for official events from March 4 to 9 as part of improving diplomatic relations. From the UK, he will travel to Ireland.
