Kalpetta:The Janakeeya Karma Samithi has submitted a formal memorandum to Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi, urging immediate parliamentary intervention to expedite the Poozhithode–Padinjarathara tunnel-free road project, seen as vital for improving connectivity in Wayanad.
In the memorandum, the committee highlighted the severe transportation challenges faced by residents in Wayanad due to the lack of reliable road infrastructure. They stressed that the proposed tunnel-free road would significantly ease travel difficulties and enhance regional development.
The delegation noted that they had the opportunity to directly present their concerns to Priyanka Gandhi, expressing hope that the issue would receive due attention at the national level.
The meeting was facilitated by Kalpetta MLA T. Siddique. Among the key participants were District Panchayat member and committee executive member Junaid Kaippani, Block Congress President Paulson Koovakkal, Committee Chairperson Shakunthala Shanmughan, and members Johnson O.J., Sajan Thundiyil, Azeez Kalathil, and Prakashan V.
