Pakistan has witnessed another mysterious targeted killing after two individuals linked to the militant outfit Lashkar-e-taiba were shot dead by unidentified gunmen in what officials describe as a planned attack.
The victims were identified as senior Lashkar commander Mir Shukr Khan Raisani and Mohammad Iqbal, who was reportedly associated with Pakistan’s intelligence agency, the Inter -Services -Intelligence(ISI).
According to local media reports, unknown assailants specifically targeted the two men during the attack. Both sustained critical injuries and later died. No organization has officially claimed responsibility so far.
Wave of Targeted Killings Continues
Over the past several months, multiple individuals allegedly linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba and other extremist networks have been killed in shootings, bomb attacks, and covert operations across Pakistan.
Security analysts say the repeated attacks are creating serious pressure on militant networks, especially operatives believed to be involved in Kashmir-focused activities and cross-border operations.
Who Was Mir Shukr Khan Raisani?
Mir Shukr Khan Raisani was reportedly regarded as one of Lashkar’s important field commanders. Intelligence-linked reports claimed he played a role in recruitment, training activities, and movement of weapons in border regions.
ISI-Linked Operative Also Killed
Mohammad Iqbal was believed to have maintained close links with Pakistan’s intelligence establishment. Reports also alleged that he was involved in coordinating sensitive operations connected to Lashkar-e-Taiba.
Pakistan Points Finger at Indian Agencies
Following a series of mysterious killings of extremist figures inside Pakistan in recent years, sections of the Pakistani establishment and media have repeatedly accused Indian intelligence agencies of being behind such covert operations.
Pakistani commentators and some security analysts claim the pattern of highly coordinated assassinations resembles an organized intelligence campaign targeting individuals accused of anti-India militant activities.
However, these allegations remain unproven. Pakistan has not publicly released conclusive evidence directly linking Indian agencies to the killings.
India has also officially denied involvement in extrajudicial operations inside Pakistan and has not acknowledged any role in the incidents.

The increasing number of targeted assassinations has triggered concerns within Pakistan’s security circles. Investigators believe many of the attacks appear professionally planned and executed with precise intelligence inputs.
