In a tragic incident on Wednesday, six farmers, including four women, lost their lives due to lightning strikes in Adilabad district, Telangana. The lightning strikes occurred in three separate locations within the district.
Details of the Incidents:
Bela Village: The first lightning strike occurred in the morning while two women were working in the fields. Both women died on the spot.
Pipri Village, Gadiguda Mandal: Shortly after, a more severe lightning strike took place in Pipri village. Four individuals, including two women, were killed instantly. Two others sustained severe burn injuries.
Kumari Thanda: In the afternoon, another lightning strike hit Kumari Thanda, injuring three individuals.
The five injured individuals were admitted to the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) hospital in Adilabad. Doctors reported that the condition of two of the injured remains critical.
The district experienced sudden rainfall accompanied by lightning, leading to these unfortunate incidents.
Authorities have urged the public to exercise caution during such weather conditions and to stay indoors during thunderstorms.
The local administration has expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and is providing assistance to the injured.
