ABVP Secures Landslide Victory in Hyderabad University Student Elections.

HYDERABAD – The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the student wing of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), has secured a decisive victory in the student union elections at the University of Hyderabad (UoH). The results, announced late on Saturday night, marked a significant triumph for the organization, which had not held the top positions for many years.

The ABVP-led alliance won all the key posts in the student union, including President, Vice President, General Secretary, Joint Secretary, and Cultural Secretary. The elections, held on Friday, witnessed a high voter turnout and were keenly contested. The victory is seen as a major breakthrough for the ABVP, which has been trying to establish a strong presence on campus, traditionally considered a bastion of left-wing student organizations.

Verdict Details:

  • President: Anjali, ABVP
  • Vice President: Prasanth, ABVP
  • General Secretary: Anup, ABVP
  • Joint Secretary: Anushree, ABVP
  • Cultural Secretary: Sandeep, ABVP
The ABVP candidates emerged victorious against a combined front of student organizations, including the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) and the Ambedkar Students’ Association (ASA). The alliance, known as the United Democratic Students’ Front (UDSF), had been a dominant force in the university’s student politics in recent years.
The victory has been celebrated by ABVP activists and leaders, who have attributed the win to their focus on student-centric issues, campus development, and their anti-dynasty campaign. The UoH campus has historically been a hotbed of political activism, and the election results are expected to shift the political dynamics within the university. The defeat is a major blow to the SFI and ASA, who had previously dominated the student body elections. The newly elected union will take charge immediately and will be responsible for representing the student body on various academic and administrative matters.
