Patna:Election strategist and Jan Suraj Party leader Prashant Kishor has said that JDU chief Nitish Kumar will walk out of the BJP alliance after the Bihar assembly elections. Nitish’s goal is to become the Chief Minister for another term.
Prashant Kishor was speaking at a press conference in West Champaran district. However, no matter which alliance he is part of, Nitish has lost the popularity he needs to become the Chief Minister for a fifth consecutive term. ‘In November, after the elections, anyone can become the Chief Minister, except Nitish. I will write this to you in writing. If I am proven wrong, I will quit my own political campaign,’ Prashant said.
Prashant Kishor’s assessment comes in the backdrop of the BJP’s reluctance to announce Nitish as its CM candidate next time. ‘Nitish will fight the elections with the BJP alliance. He has done so except in the 2015 elections.’ The BJP has not announced Nitish as its CM candidate considering his declining popularity. Prashant Kishor pointed out that if the announcement is made, it will be difficult for the BJP to win. Prashant Kishor also said that the 74-year-old leader is physically and mentally retired.
