Abdul Rauf Asghar, the brother of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) chief Maulana Masood Azhar and a key figure in several major terrorist attacks, was reportedly killed during India’s Operation Sindoor on May 7, 2025. Indian officials have confirmed his death, describing him as the “Supreme Commander” of JeM at the time.

Abdul Rauf Asghar was a central figure in JeM’s operations, having masterminded several high-profile attacks, including the 1999 hijacking of Indian Airlines Flight IC-814, the 2001 Indian Parliament attack, and the 2016 Pathankot airbase assault. He also played a significant role in the 2016 Nagrota Army camp attack, where he was identified as the handler of the militants involved .
