AAP MLA Anmol Gagan Maan Resigns, Quits Politics.

Chandigarh, Punjab: Anmol Gagan Maan, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Kharar, has resigned from her position and announced her decision to quit politics. She submitted her resignation to Punjab Assembly Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Anmol Gagan Maan stated, “My heart is heavy, but I have decided to quit politics. My resignation from the post of MLA, submitted to the Speaker, may be accepted.”

She extended her best wishes to the party and expressed hope that the Punjab Government would live up to the expectations of the people.
Anmol Gagan Maan, a popular Punjabi singer before entering politics, was elected from the Kharar constituency in the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections. She served as a minister in the Bhagwant Mann-led cabinet, holding significant portfolios such as Tourism, Investment Promotion, Labour, and Hospitality. However, she was dropped from the cabinet during a reshuffle in September 2024.

Maan joined the Aam Aadmi Party in July 2020 and subsequently became the vice-president of the party’s youth wing. Her resignation comes just three days after she reportedly met with AAP national convener and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

While Anmol Gagan Maan has not explicitly stated the reasons behind her decision to resign, her announcement has created a stir in Punjab political circles. There has been no immediate official reaction from the Aam Aadmi Party regarding her resignation.
