India and Cyprus Strengthen Ties as PM Modi Begins Diplomatic Outreach in Europe.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi began his five-day, three-nation tour with a historic stop in Cyprus on Sunday—the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to the island nation in over two decades. He was warmly received at the airport by Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides, marking a significant diplomatic moment for both nations.

During the visit, Prime Minister Modi addressed the India–Cyprus CEO Forum held in Limassol, where he showcased India as a hub for digital innovation, infrastructure development, and emerging economic opportunities. He emphasized India’s evolving global stature and mentioned that India and the European Union are actively working toward finalizing a Free Trade Agreement by the end of this year.

Highlighting the transformative changes India has undergone in the last decade, PM Modi cited major advancements in digital payments, innovation, and infrastructure. “After six decades, the same government has been elected for a third consecutive term in India,” he stated, underlining political continuity as a key factor in India’s growth story.
