COIMBATORE – In a significant political development, the Hindustan Janata Party (HJP), led by Raghul Gandhi K. (RGK), has filed a formal complaint with the Election Commission of India (ECI) alleging voter fraud. This action comes after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s recent public statements accusing the ECI of widespread vote theft and the existence of bogus voters, claims for which the ECI had asked him to submit an affidavit.
According to a statement released by the HJP, the party has submitted a complaint with evidence to the ECI regarding a voter named Gurkirat Singh Dang from Karnataka. The HJP claims that Dang possesses four voter ID cards, registered in both the Bangalore Central (25) parliamentary constituency and the Mahadevapura (174) assembly constituency.
The HJP Leader Raghul Gandhi RGK complaint states that if it is confirmed that Gurkirat Singh Dang voted using these four different ID cards in the 2024 parliamentary elections and the 2023 Karnataka state assembly elections, he should face severe legal consequences. The party has demanded that Dang be fined ₹10 lakh and sentenced to five years of non-bailable imprisonment for subverting the democratic process.
In his statement, Raghul Gandhi K., who is the national organizer and southern regional president of the HJP, as well as the Coimbatore district president of the International Legal Rights and Human Justice Council, criticized the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi stating that while he has made sensational claims in the news, he has not filed a formal complaint with the ECI. Raghul Gandhi
RGK also affirmed that the HJP’s action will not be limited to this one case, and the party will continue to pursue legal action against other voters found to be involved in similar identity card irregularities.
