Trump Warns Russia of “Massive Sanctions” After Attack on US Factory in Ukraine.

Washington, D.C.: U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning to Russia, stating that it will face “massive sanctions” or “massive tariffs” after a recent Russian missile strike hit an American-owned electronics factory in western Ukraine. The attack, which took place far from the front lines in Mukachevo, injured over a dozen people and destroyed a significant portion of the civilian plant.

The strike occurred during a large-scale Russian aerial assault on Ukraine, which also involved numerous drones and missiles. Ukrainian officials and the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine condemned the attack, stating that it was a deliberate act to target American business interests and investments in the country. The factory, owned by the U.S. company Flex Ltd., produced household items and had no connection to military production.

President Trump, who has been leading a new diplomatic push for a peace settlement, expressed his displeasure with the attack. He stated that he had told Russian President Vladimir Putin he was “not happy about it.” Trump gave a two-week deadline, after which he would decide on a course of action. He hinted that the consequences could be “massive sanctions or massive tariffs or both,” but he also left open the possibility of doing nothing, saying, “I’ll see whose fault it is.”

The attack on the American factory has complicated the ongoing peace negotiations and has been seen by some as a direct challenge to Trump’s efforts. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called the strike a “telling attack” that proves Russia is not genuinely seeking peace. Meanwhile, the incident has raised questions about the safety of foreign investments in Ukraine and the effectiveness of current diplomatic efforts to end the conflict.
