Mothakkara: The International Day of Older Persons was observed at Kattunaykka Unnathi in Mothakkara, Vellamunda.
Wayanad District Panchayat Welfare Standing Committee Chairman Junaid Kaipani inaugurated the event by cutting a cake and offering it to senior citizen K. Ammini.
C. M. Anil Kumar, Chairman of the Health and Education Standing Committee of Vellamunda Grama Panchayat, presided over the function. Adv. K. M. Ahmed Rifayi delivered the Day of Older Persons message.
RSC UAE National Finance Secretary Sayyid Shihabudeen Jifri Thangal Oojampadav, K. Janu, Maran Eranakunnu, and others attended the event.
The celebration aims to recognize the services and contributions of older persons to society, seriously consider and resolve their issues, and prevent them from being insulted and neglected.
