Prime Minister Narendra Modi Addresses the Nation Following Operation Sindoor and India-Pakistan Tensions
In the wake of Operation Sindoor and the subsequent conflict between India and Pakistan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation with a powerful message. He declared that India had eliminated the terrorists who had dared to erase the sindoor (vermillion mark) of Indian daughters. “We have wiped out those who tried to erase the sindoor of our daughters. A fearful Pakistan ran across the world seeking refuge,” he said, emphasizing that nuclear threats and blackmail tactics would not work against India.
Modi revealed that Pakistan had contacted India’s Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) without provocation, seeking a ceasefire in desperation after suffering heavy losses. “The whole world saw them plead for help as their tactics failed. They finally requested a ceasefire,” he stated.
He reiterated that India does not seek war, noting, “Water and blood cannot flow together. There can be no compromise with terrorism.” If any dialogue with Pakistan were to take place, it would be focused solely on terrorism, he said. He added that over a hundred terrorists had been eliminated during this operation, and the global community now clearly understands India’s firm stance.
Modi asserted that all Indian armed forces remain on high alert and warned that this is only a brief pause, not a full withdrawal. “Don’t mistake this as a retreat. Any provocation will be met with strong retaliation,” he warned Pakistan.
Dedicating the victory of Operation Sindoor to the women of the country, Modi saluted the bravery of the armed forces, praising their extraordinary courage and commitment on the battlefield. He paid tribute to all who participated in Operation Sindoor.
Condemning the Pahalgam attack as an act of extreme cruelty, Modi described how innocent civilians—mothers, wives, and children—were brutally killed. “Twenty-six innocent lives were lost in a terrorist attack carried out in the name of religion,” he said.
“Operation Sindoor is not just a name; it reflects the emotions of crores of Indians,” the Prime Minister concluded.
